- The Fiesta of San Fermin begins on July 6th, but the first Encierro take place on the 7th. There are going to be 8 of them, one per day until July 14th.

- The Encierro begins at 8am sharp, but the track starts to be cleared and cleaned from about 7am. From this moment it’s very difficult if not forbidden for spectators to access it, and therefore also to get to the doors of the homes watching over it. It is therefore very important to get to the meeting point punctually.

- The Encierro’s track is some 800 meters long and bendy; it does not offer any position from where it can be wholly seen (not even the runners can see everything, as bulls are far faster than any human). Still there are spots of different qualities and sometimes being higher with binoculars is much better than being lower without them.

- o anybody considering running with the bulls: it is strongly recommended not to do it before having followed the race a couple of times from above and from different positions. Both bulls and crowd behave differently according to the peculiarities of the track, and most of time the “unexpected” (i.e.: an accident) is something that actually usually happens on that spot rather than something that has never occurred there before.

- The atmosphere in the town centre during San Fermin isn’t the most refined. The number of people around those streets is more than ten times higher than usual and many have to find adventurous solutions either to sleep or rest or for further biological functions. Walking a few hundred meters from the main streets and squares will go towards civilisation. The same applies for anyone hoping to find some quiet spot to eat and rest in tranquillity.
