This year the Palio we experience great emotions thanks to the extraordinary victories of Lupa, she gets both Palii of July and August, an event Lupa will write on history books. The double victory is referred informally as Cappotto (winter coat) for no apparent reason. Moreover, the Lupa won with the same horse Preziosa Penelope and the same jockey Jonatan Bartoletti (a.k.a. Scompiglio)! Last time we had the same combination of horse-jockey winning in the same year was in 1933.
Spectacular performances from Scompiglio and the powerful Preziosa Penelope, on both races we saw the horse taking over the pack and reach the first position only at the very end of the race with great passion and determination. Well done Lupa!
